SOUVENIR SHOPPING IN KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA

Since I was on a tight budget when I went to Malaysia last September, my priority is to really spend my Ringgits in souvenirs that are local, cheap yet fab. With a limited budget in mind, I checked on my options.

In my recent trip, I visited four places to do my pasalubong shopping. Basically my first stop was Bukit Bintang as lots of shops sell souvenir items. It’s in there that I purchased my ref magnets and key chains at a cheap price.

Surprisingly, there are lots of shops to visit in KL, which you can  walk away with great finds!

TRIP TO MELAKA:WORLD HERITAGE CITY AND THE TOP 12 THINGS NOT TO MISS!

When I was plotting my itinerary for my solo traveling challenge to Malaysia in September, a travel to Melaka piqued my interest. Based on what I read in some blog entries written by Filipinos, Melaka or known as a World Heritage City is a must-visit in Malaysia because of its historic appeal.

With a travel to Melaka in my mind, I allotted one day of my itinerary to the historic city. The travel time to Melaka is 1 hour and 45 minutes by bus and so that helped me to monitor my time. Of course, I have to consider being lost in a foreign land and finding my way out. On top of that, I inquired that the last bus going to Kuala Lumpur from Melaka is at 8:30 in the evening.

Melaka is definitely a glorious place not to miss in Malaysia. Now, read on to know more the TOP 12 things that you can enjoy in Melaka.

THE NATIONAL MOSQUE, MUSEUM, AND MORE IN MALAYSIA!

Whew! After two weeks of hiatus as I was sooooo busy working on my paper for the Asian Center for Communication and Media 2012 Conference, which was held in Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, I can say that I'm finally back in blogging. As I realized, I have lots of entries to share to everyone. Imagine, I haven't finished blogging about my solo travel adventure in Malaysia, which happened last September. Now, let's get the ball rolling.

When I went to Kuala Lumpur Malaysia, I toured and visited tourist spots in the city. Well, thanks to Malaysia's Hop on, Hop off bus, everything went smooth and on a budget.

Now, let me show to you the tourist spots that I visited in Kuala Lumpur, which I hope you will visit as well when you go to Kuala Lumpur.

SARANGGOLA BLOG AWARDS (KUWENTONG PAMBATA): "KALABIT, KUPIT, NAMIMILIPIT!"

SARANGGOLA BLOG AWARDS (MAIKLING KUWENTO): "CANVASS"

SARANGGOLA BLOG AWARDS (TULA): "e-ntablado"

STARHILL GALLERY: WOW INTERIORS!

Before going to Kuala Lumpur, my supah friend Elna told me to visit the ground floor of Starhill. My friend told me that the interior of the restaurants is spectacular. So out of curiosity, when I went to Malaysia, I included in my itinerary to visit Starhill Gallery.

Actually, I almost miss out visiting Starhill as I was enjoying the night with some friends, whom I met, in KL. Thankfully, the group decided to stroll right after a hefty dinner in Jalan Alor.

Now, are you excited to see the amazing interiors of Starhil Gallery? Read on!

KUALA LUMPUR HOP-ON HOP-OFF

In my recent trip to Malaysia, one of the best things that I enjoyed the most is touring Kuala Lumpur via KL Hop-on Hop-off Bus. It's a 7-day operation bus tour which brings tourists around Kuala Lumpur. What's more exciting, the bus stops at over 23 stopovers, which are accessible to hotels, tourist spots, train stations, and major malls.

Since I was on a shoe string budget in my recent trip, getting on KL Hop-on Hop-off was glorious. Not only that I was able to visit museums, a national mosque, and Merdeka Square, I also felt at home with few tourists who are just hungry to explore or discover the beauty of Kuala Lumpur.

Now, join me as I give you tips on where to hop on and off and how much should you pay if you wish to experience KL's Hop-on Hop-Off.

BUKIT BINTANG: KUALA LUMPUR'S GOLDEN TRIANGLE

Finally, I’m back! My apologies for the hiatus, my dear readers. As you all know (and would probably know), I already left Brunei Darussalam to embark on a new journey in another foreign land. As of writing, I’m preparing my documents to obtain my Australian Student Visa. I am going to Australia in November of this year to jumpstart my PhD in Media and Communication via a scholarship to support my tuition fees and living allowance.

There had been lots of happenings in my life for the past weeks but I won’t disclose it yet. As for this blog entry, I am sharing (still, and for there’s just plenty) my solo traveling challenge in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. And today, I will be talking about Bukit Bintang or known as the Shopper’s Haven.

When I stayed in Kuala Lumpur, I opted not to shop but went for tourist spot hopping. Interestingly, I stayed in Bukit Bintang because that’s where budget hotels are located. I checked in at La Comme Budget Hotel, which is 100 tumblings away (lol) from Jalan Alor, where I dined most of the time in hawker eateries and 200 tumblings away (lol) from the stretch of Malls in Bukit Bintang.
